Job Description
As a Team Lead, your primary role is to provide support to your manager and other staff members when the manager is not present. You are also expected to adhere to company policies and procedures, and to support your team in doing the same.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Cash Management
- During opening and closing shifts, prioritizes accurate cash counting and promptly reports any discrepancies to the Café Manager. Additionally, ensures the change bag is adequately stocked and notifies the Manager when replenishment is needed. Any tips stored in the safe must be distributed to staff by a Team Lead.
Keyholder
- Maintains a personal set of keys to the cafe and is prepared to assist in emergencies by opening or closing the cafe as needed.
Maintaining Standards
- Monitors fellow team members to ensure fulfilment of duties and adherence to barista service standards. Upholds store cleanliness to established standards.
De-escalating
- Confidently handles confrontations between staff or customers. Reports any incidents to the Manager and prepares incident reports if required.
Ordering
- Responsible for placing orders as requested by the Café Manager.
Inventory Management
- Assists in taking stock or inventory as needed.
Training
- Supports the training of new staff and assists in training current staff on any procedural changes.
EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET
- Minimum 2 years of café experience.
- Demonstrates customer service skills.
- Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven track record of being a team player.
- Valid Ontario Smart Serve Certification.
- Ontario approved Safe Food Handler Certificate.
