We are now seeking a part-time Social Media Coordinator to help us share these stories and expand our digital presence.
Role Overview
We are looking for a creative and motivated bilingual (English & Chinese) Social Media Coordinator to join our team on a contract basis. This role will focus on producing and curating engaging, professional content across our social media platforms, including:
- WeChat & Xiaohongshu
- Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Video platforms (YouTube, Bilibili, and others as needed)
The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who can weave together content collected by our staff—transforming real immigration journeys, community insights, and industry updates into posts and videos that resonate with our audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a consistent content calendar across all company channels.
- Write, edit, and publish engaging bilingual posts (English & Chinese) tailored to each platform.
- Produce and edit short-form and long-form video content (e.g., client stories, educational videos, highlights of company activities).
- Ensure brand consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging.
- Track social media analytics, trends, and engagement to adjust strategies.
- Collaborate with staff to collect raw materials (photos, videos, stories) and refine them into strategic, compelling narratives.
- Experiment with creative formats (reels, short videos, infographics) to increase audience reach and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities with a professional yet approachable tone.
- Familiarity with major social platforms, especially WeChat, Xiaohongshu, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and video-sharing platforms.
- Basic video production and editing skills (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar).
- An eye for visual design and branding consistency.
- Knowledge of current digital media trends and audience engagement strategies.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and align content with organizational goals.
- Previous experience in social media, communications, or content creation is an asset but not required—we welcome driven, junior-level candidates eager to learn and make an impact.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Create engaging content that reflects the brand’s voice and resonates with target audiences.
- Utilize tools such as Hootsuite and Buffer for scheduling posts and analyzing performance metrics.
- Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to improve organic reach.
- Design visually appealing graphics using Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Manage Facebook Advertising campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive conversions.
- Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and respond to comments or inquiries promptly.
- Analyze performance data using Google Analytics to refine strategies and report on campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with overall marketing goals.
- Proofread all content for accuracy and consistency before publication.
Experience
- Proven experience in social media management or digital marketing, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
- Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Familiarity with social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and keyword research techniques.
- Experience with Facebook Advertising campaigns is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a keen eye for detail in proofreading content.
