Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Specialist to join our Service on a temporary, part time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in and a passion for engaging audiences through various social media platforms. This role involves developing and implementing effective social media strategies to enhance our online presence, drive traffic, and increase brand awareness.
Duties
- Implement, and manage social media strategies across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Create engaging content tailored to each platform, utilizing graphic design skills and tools such as Canva.
- Monitor social media channels for trends, community participation, and engagement opportunities.
- Proofread all content before publication to ensure accuracy and alignment with brand voice.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in social media.
Qualifications
- Have 2-5 years of experience in Corporate, Not-For-Profit, Government communications, marketing, social media (preferred);
- Have a minimum 2-year post-secondary diploma in communications, marketing or suitable equivalent (preferred)
- Possess very good computer skills and the ability to multitask
- Be of good moral character and habits and have no criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted.
- Have excellent interpersonal and strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent written communication skills
- Comfortable working with community partners, local government, educational institutions and police
- Preference will be given to applicants with a proven track record using various social media platforms and experience executing public relations campaigns.
