NATURE OF WORK
Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Payroll Services, the Paymaster assists in managing the overall operations within the Payroll Services of the Board in accordance to the needed payroll compliance with regards to the federal & provincial related payroll legislation.
This includes internal processing, procedures monitoring, mass productions and implementation of the new versions of software.
CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
This position includes in particular the following responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with Human Resources Department and Finance Departments for the application of the Business Requirements related to MEES’s Business Rules and the CSB Collectives Agreements & Policies;
- Supports Schools & Departments management & staff in the matters of Payroll services management;
- Plan and organize training to employees using PAIE-GRH in schools and departments;
- Satisfactory operation of the payroll services and its employees including payroll calculation in respect of payroll guidelines, tools including check list;
- Maintains accurate and up to date employee files;
- Controls and verifies information for input;
- Supervises activities of subordinates, if needed;
- Establishes method to meet work schedule, payroll guidelines, time lines and check list;
- Assure an excellent customer service to employees, schools, communities and departments;
- Communicates with people internally and externally in matters related to payroll processing;
- If need be, performs any other related tasks requested by the coordinator of Payroll Services;
- Assures an optimal payroll service to all CSB employees & departments by overseeing the Payroll client services activities;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate speciality or a diploma or attestation of studies recognized by the competent authority;
3 years of relevant experience of which at least 2 years in a payroll environment supervision capacity;
Knowledge of payroll related functions & activities is a context of a School Board’s payroll management and knowledge of the payroll system PAIE-GRH is important asset;
Capacity to lead related payroll functions & activities in the context of the cultural, language & social of the Cree Nation is an important asset;
Fluent in Cree and one of the two following language: English or French;
Excellent customer service skills;
Autonomous and conscious of details;
Available to travel.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Regular full-time position.
35 hr/week.
