Job Title: Project Payroll Administrator
Location: Edmonton – Corporate Office
Job Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week
Reports To: Office Manager
Job Summary:
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for personnel working on site projects. The role requires strong attention to detail, compliance with labor and tax regulations, and coordination with HR, finance, and operations teams. Experience working in a fast-paced office with tight deadlines is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and administer weekly payroll for field and corporate office as well as subcontractors.
- Validate timesheets, per diem allowances, travel and hours based on project and union agreements.
- Collaborate with HR, site managers, and timekeeping staff to maintain accurate employee data and work schedules.
- Process deductions for benefits, pensions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
- Process and submit monthly remittances for unions.
- Track and input weekly department costing reports.
- Process rate and classification changes
- Submit ROE’s, track lay offs, terminations and quits
- Maintain confidential payroll records and ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with project-specific audits, cost reporting, and payroll reconciliations.
- Generate payroll reports and audits for Office Manager.
- Assist other departments in the office when needed (HR/Travel/AP/AR) and other duties assigned by Office Manager.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in oil and gas or construction.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP.
- Certification such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional), Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent.
- Familiarity with union labor agreements, remote workforce compensation, and taxation.
- Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills is a must.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
