NIGHT AUDITOR
GENERAL OVERVIEW: Acts as the manager on duty for the property during the night shift. Responsible for the daily audit of the property and the cash drawer, according to the standards set forth by the Hotel.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Responsible to the guest. Reports directly to the Accountant and /or General Manager.
APPEARANCE STANDARDS: Must dress in a professional manner with name tag. A neat and clean appearance must be maintained at all times.
FUNCTION OUTLINE:
Major Duties:
· Send credit card charges to the bank for processing.
· Post credit card payments.
· Post phone calls from evening.
· Prepare the daily ADR report.
· Answer the phone promptly (within 3 rings) and courteously.
· Assign rooms, in a courteous and efficient manner, to all incoming guests, in accordance with property policy and procedure.
· Ensure that all required reports and vouchers are on the General Manager’s desk for review and approval.
· Prepare for management a daily listing of guest accounts which are over the specified dollar limit.
· Receive and record guest payments.
· Prepare an Aging Report based on the standards set forth by the Company
· Inspect all equipment and furniture in your work area daily for any hazards to employees and/or guests; report all hazards immediately to Maintenance for repair.
Minor Duties:
· When acting as MOD, in other personnel’s’ absence, very rapid trips of several hundred yards and the negotiation of stairs may be necessary.
· Frequent trips between the night audit and front desk areas are common during the beginning and end of the audit shift.
· Provide information to guests in a courteous and informative manner.
· Take room reservations as requested by telephone and enter information into the system.
· Notify the General Manager or MOD of any unusual incident regarding the operation and/or safety of the hotel or guest.
Handle all internal control items as the property policies and procedures dictate.
