Marketing & Promotions Specialist
Women in Resource Development Corporation (WRDC)
Location: St. John’s, NL | Salary: $60,000, pro-rated to contract term
Term: Contract (September 8, 2025 – March 31, 2026)
Help Us Tell Our Story and Shape the Next Chapter
We’re a provincial nonprofit on the cusp of something big: a new name, a new look, and a bold vision for the future of work in Newfoundland and Labrador. As our Marketing & Promotions Specialist, you’ll help us bring that new brand to life and make sure everything we put into the world feels sharp, engaging, and true to who we are.
This is a creative, hands-on role where you’ll be the voice behind our social media, the storyteller in our newsletter, the designer of branded templates, and the friendly face at events. If you love a mix of writing, design, strategy, and people, this might be your perfect next move.
What You’ll Do
- Be Our Voice Online
Plan, design, and schedule content for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. From everyday updates to special campaigns, you’ll keep us creative and consistent.
- Launch Our New Brand
You’ll help us roll out an exciting new name and visual identity, updating everything from our website and email signatures to event banners and slide decks. Ensure consistent tone, visuals, and messaging across everything we produce, from digital content to printed materials.
- Design Templates That Work
Create branded templates for PowerPoint presentations, social media, and internal documents to help our team stay consistent and polished.
- Bring Our Newsletter to Life
Draft and design a monthly email newsletter that keeps our partners and community in the loop and promotes our programs and activities.
- Keep Our Website Fresh
Post content and make updates to our website (we use WordPress - no coding needed).
- Be Our Community Ambassador
You’ll set up and staff our booth at conferences and represent us at community events. Knowing our programs and services inside and out, you’ll deliver our pitch with energy and enthusiasm, helping people get excited about what we do and building our networks.
- Lead Promo Design & Ordering
Design or source branded swag, signage, and print materials that make us look as good in person as we do online.
What You Bring
- Experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field
- Strong writing skills and a creative eye for visual storytelling
- Comfort using tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, HeyOrca, Mailchimp, and WordPress
- Solid design skills - you can make a post, a banner, or a deck look great and on-brand
- Confidence representing the organization at public events and promoting our programs and services
- Organized and self-directed - you can work with multiple teams, juggle deadlines and still have fun doing it
Bonus Points If You…
- Have experience making Reels, TikToks, or other short-form video content, especially if you’re comfortable being behind (or in front of) the camera.
- Know your way around basic video editing tools.
- Have a few samples of past work you can share (posts, newsletters, logos/designs, event materials, etc.)
