The Role:
Canco is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support the Legal team in day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining legal records, preparing documents, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures. This position requires a high level of accuracy, organization, and discretion while providing essential administrative support to help the Legal department meet its objectives efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments, meetings and conferences for employer
- Set up and maintain filing systems and update legal databases, tracking key dates, deadlines.
- Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments or organizations
- May attend meetings or conferences to take notes, minutes and dictation
- Assist in annual filings
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents
- Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a corporate and/or legal environment is preferred.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Ability to deal with and handle confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office (ex. Word, SharePoint, Excel, and Teams).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skill is a must.
Benefits:
