Position Title: Leasing Specialist

Overview:
Our client, a reputable real estate investment and development firm based in Ottawa, is seeking a Leasing Specialist to join their growing team. This position is ideal for a dynamic, client-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of leasing operations across residential and/or commercial real estate portfolios.
The Leasing Specialist will play a key role in driving occupancy, tenant satisfaction, and revenue growth through effective leasing strategies and relationship management. You will work closely with the property management and development teams to ensure all leasing activities align with broader operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full leasing cycle for a portfolio of residential andlong term care properties, from initial inquiry to signed lease
Conduct property tours and communicate key selling features to prospective tenants
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective tenants
Collaborate with marketing teams to support leasing campaigns and property promotions
Prepare and review lease agreements, amendments, and related documentation
Monitor and report on leasing performance, occupancy rates, and market trends
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure units are rent-ready and maintenance is addressed promptly
Negotiate lease terms and rental rates in accordance with company guidelines and market conditions
Ensure compliance with relevant municipal, provincial, and federal laws and regulations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the companys CRM or property management system
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in real estate leasing, sales, or property management
Strong understanding of leasing processes, legal requirements, and tenant relations
Experience with both residential and long term care home leasing is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-service mindset
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Yardi, Buildium, or similar)
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is preferred
