About Us
AIM Environmental Group Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Convertus Group—Canada’s largest organic processor—is a leader in the design and operation of organic processing and material recovery facilities. We provide single-source environmental solutions, partnering with world-class organizations across local, national, and international markets to address today’s environmental challenges.
The City of Calgary Composting Facility (CCF), a $143 million facility, began operations on July 18, 2017. The CCF is currently undergoing an expansion to include an anaerobic digestion (AD) module, the facility will soon convert food and yard waste into renewable natural gas—adding 60,000 tonnes of processing capacity to support the Green Cart program. This expansion is expected to be completed by late 2025. The facility already processes over 145,500 metric tons of residential food and yard waste and dewatered biosolids annually, and the new AD technology will further reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The facility is located adjacent to the Shepard Waste Management Facility, south of 114th Avenue and 68 Street SE.
