Responsibilities
- Ensure project safety plans and procedures are in place and are aligned with Corporate policies, Local and Regional regulations
- Conduct inspections of job sites and implement remedial action if needed
- Follow up with non-compliance issues and take appropriate action
- Ensure compliance of employees and Subcontractors to all safety plans
- Ensure that equipment on site are compliant with general and specified industry standards
- Assist in planning and start up of new projects with reference to safety
- Conduct safety orientation for new hires.
- Assist in the management of ROMAG’s COR program
- Conduct site safety meeting including health and safety talks, toolbox talks and COR
- Organize and conduct training programs.
- Proactively recognize and prevent dangerous situations and take necessary actions to remedy them
- Keep Management current on the status of any issues that may impact ROMAG’s standard of safety
- Maintain Statistics and records of workers training certificate
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of construction safety experience
- COR experience is a must
- University or college degree related to Health and Safety
- Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and / or Certified Health and Safety consultant (CHSC)
- Interpersonal Skills with the ability to influence others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good Organizational Skills with great attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
