The Data and Analytics Initiative Department works on the Data and Analytics program for the Desjardins Group Security Office (DGSO). As a data governance advisor for the sector, you help define and implement data management processes, allowing optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, with compliance rules, privacy, privacy policies and security in mind. You help teams recognize and manage data as a strategic asset. You prepare recommendations on data use and compliance with governance documents that apply to data, that are adapted to the teams’ various needs and the organization’s objectives. Your projects and initiatives require extensive knowledge of your line of work. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Advise data producers and users to help them better understand how to valorize data for the benefit of members and clients, in keeping with sound data governance.
- Advise and train teams on how to apply data management processes and controls properly.
- Develop and maintain data governance logs, tools and dashboards.
- Identify the sector’s data governance needs and opportunities.
- Help teams analyze risks and potential gaps between what is set out in the governance documents and their operational practices.
- Develop and implement practices and mechanisms to ensure compliance with the governance documents that apply to data.
- Measure and monitor the performance of the standards and the practices in place, including changes in data governance maturity.
- Handle data quality issues and align with various stakeholders to resolve these issues.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum four years of relevant experience in data governance
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience overseeing artificial intelligence
- Experience and interest in a role that generates numerous interactions
- Knowledge of French is required
- Proficiency in documenting techniques that meet the standards of a large organization
