Role

As a Communications Intern, you will support the execution of communications across Canada, primarily focused on the Industrial Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. The role is pivotal in supporting content creation (articles, videos, multimedia, social media posts, internal newspaper, WhatsApp, digital signage, amongst others) for Tenaris’s communication channels. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and develop strong connections with employees.

Note that this position is a Part-Time role - 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Create, organize and produce engaging content including articles, graphics, videos, and multimedia materials – for channels such as WhatsApp, SharePoint, TenarisToday (intranet), email, digital signage, social media (Facebook) and print

  • Develop, draft, edit and proofread clear, strategic written materials – including newsletters, updates and event-related content – to support key messaging and communication goals
  • Design visually impactful assets using Canva and Adobe Suite, leveraging vendors
  • Walk the mill floor on a regular basis at the Sault Ste. Marie Industrial Centre, adhering to all safety guidelines while engaging with employees to gather insights and stories that support meaningful content development
  • Support planning and execution of key initiatives and events, ensuring effective stakeholder communication
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align content with ongoing communication initiatives
  • Help produce visual content, including photography and videography, to enhance communication materials and collaborating with internal teams and specialists to ensure alignment with Tenaris’s objectives and messaging
  • Develop creative concepts and innovative communication solutions to support business objectives and drive employee’s engagement
  • Assist with daily Communications Department operations, including timelines, content calendars, meetings and documentation

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree focused on Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Creative Media, Public Relations or related disciplines
  • Professional level proficiency in English (C1 or equivalent)
  • Proficient in Canva; familiar with Adobe Suite is a plus
  • Familiar with social media platforms, particularly WhatsApp and Facebook and internal communication channels like SharePoint and Outlook

Skills and experience required:

  • Exceptional communication skills: Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and translate complex topics into clear, engaging content
  • Creative and strategic thinker: Innovative mindset with a journalistic approach – able to ask insightful questions, provide context and develop communication strategies
  • Content creation: Basic knowledge and skills in photography, videography, and graphic design. Shows creativity in visual storytelling with a hands-on approach to produce compelling and appealing content.
  • Collaboration and interpersonal skills: Proven ability to work independently and within dynamic teams, engaging effectively with employees at all levels
  • Proactive and self-driven: Energetic, self-starting attitude with strong decision-making skills and a commitment to continuous learning an improvement
  • Analytic abilities: Capable of conducting research and analyzing data to refine and enhance content strategies
  • Adaptability and execution: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, eager to learn and delivers high-level results
