The College Admissions Consultant will work directly with high school students and their families to provide expert advice and personalized strategies for navigating U.S. college admissions. This includes helping students craft a compelling application theme highlighting their unique strengths, passions, and goals and building a solid extracurricular profile aligning with their academic and career ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one consultations with students and families to create customized college admissions strategies.
- Help students develop a cohesive application theme that showcases their academic and extracurricular strengths, personal stories, and future goals.
- Advise students on building a solid extracurricular profile by aligning their activities, leadership roles, and community involvement with their college and career aspirations.
- Guide students through developing application materials, including personal statements, supplemental essays, resumes, and activity lists.
- Provide detailed feedback on college essays, ensuring clarity, originality, and alignment with the student’s narrative.
- Stay updated on college admissions trends, university-specific requirements, and deadlines.
- Help students identify “best-fit” colleges and develop a balanced list (reach, target, and safety schools).
- Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and manage timelines for application milestones.
- Collaborate with other team members to provide a comprehensive approach to the admissions process.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in college admissions consulting, counseling, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of the U.S. college admissions process, including essay writing and application requirements.
- Ability to work one of the weekend days (Saturday or Sunday) consistently – because our clients are working parents and middle school/high school students, there will be meetings on after-school hours on weekdays and weekends. However, you will have the flexibility to choose when you start/end work each day and which days you want to have meetings.
- Reliably attends meetings on time, promptly responds to client requests, efficiently manages scheduling, and consistently meets deadlines without close supervision.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a Top 50 university and/or Master's degree.
- Experience speaking with families of 6th-12th grade students.
- Experience in higher education (e.g., Admissions, Admission Reader, etc.).
- Native or proficient in Mandarin and English.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
