The Seed Daycare is hiring a position for a Facility Assistant Manager
You will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care.
Must be able to work every 2nd Saturday!
Roles and Responsibilities of The Seed Daycare & OSC
1. Leadership & Management
- Provide overall leadership and vision aligned with the values of community, inclusion, and family-centered care.
- Supervise and support staff including educators, cooks, and support personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and positive workplace culture.
- Organize regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
2. Childcare Program Oversight
- Ensure the daycare and OSC programs meet licensing requirements and exceed quality standards.
- Oversee curriculum planning and ensure developmentally appropriate practices.
- Encourage inclusion and support for children with diverse needs (e.g., through FSCD, GRIT, or Inclusive Childcare partnerships).
- Monitor child progress and support the use of individual care plans when needed.
3. Parent & Family Engagement
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families.
- Oversee communication platforms like the parent app, newsletters, and bulletin boards.
- Organize family engagement events (e.g., Mother’s Day Tea, open house, progressive suppers).
- Follow up with families post-registration or during transitions to ensure a smooth process.
4. Community & Professional Partnerships
- Maintain and grow partnerships with local professionals (e.g., speech therapists, police officers, nurses, occupational therapists).
- Coordinate visits and guest speakers that enhance learning and community connection.
- Serve as the primary contact for external organizations and support services.
5. Administrative & Licensing Duties
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing regulations.
- Maintain records (attendance, incident reports, illness logs, temperature logs, etc.).
- Manage enrollment, waitlists, and transitions between age groups.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures (e.g., illness policy, emergency plans).
6. Financial Oversight
- Collaborate on budgeting, billing, and financial planning.
- Track government funding (grants, subsidies) and ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor fee collection and provide financial updates to owners/partners.
7. Health, Safety & Facility Management
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed consistently.
- Monitor facility maintenance, cleanliness, and licensing readiness.
- Lead emergency drills and ensure staff are trained in first aid, CPR, and other required certifications.

Requirements:
· Early Childhood Education Level-3
· Demonstrated knowledge of licensing and accreditation regulations
· Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
· CPR/First Aid Certificate
· Food Handling Training would be an asset
