The Role at NFP

As an Accounting Coordinator at NFP, you will be assisting and working alongside the industry’s best accounting professionals to manage the full-cycle accounting process. This includes but is not limited to analyzing balance sheets, managing general ledger accounts, recording commission statements, and assisting with month & year-end closing activities. You will also gain exposure to and assist with accounting projects as they arise from time to time.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups
  • Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents appropriately
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Handle Client Payments as well as issue client refunds

What you Bring

  • Entry-level/intern to 2 years experience in AP/AR; Financial industry an asset
  • Go-getter attitude; not afraid to handle ‘grunt-work’
  • Quick learner and comfortable in an uncertain/changing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Some knowledge of full-cycle accounting procedures along with a high degree of concentration
  • Strong time management, organizational, and ability to consistently meet deadlines unsupervised
  • Quick learner and comfortable in an uncertain/changing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of Integrity with an ability to handle confidential information
