The School for the Contemporary Arts (SCA) offers a unique interdisciplinary curriculum in which studio classes in film, dance, music & sound, visual arts, theatre performance & production and design are integrated with the theoretical, historical, and political study of the arts in downtown Vancouver. The meeting of creative practice with academic inquire is core to the SCA, which works to foster artists and scholars who are equipped to engage with and contribute to important contemporary dialogues, issues and challenges. The SCA aims to provide students with the necessary skills to excel as artists in this rapidly changing landscape.
About the Role
The Academic and Student Affairs Advisor provides academic advice and administrative support to School for the Contemporary Arts (SCA) undergraduate students in the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT). Works with the SCA Manager, Academic and Administration, in collaboration with the Director Student Affairs. Provides support to the SCA School Director and Manager, Academic and Administration in the long-term planning of course offerings, course scheduling and enrollment; administers undergraduate program and graduation activities; and participates in undergraduate program planning. Participates as a member of the undergraduate curriculum committee.
