Hours: 5 - 10 hours per week
Compensation: $24–$27 per hour depending on experience
About LOVE BC
LOVE BC (Leave Out Violence BC) is a youth-driven organization with over 20 years of experience supporting underserved youth through violence prevention, skill-building, and creative expression. We offer safe, youth-centered programs, including weekly small-group sessions with art, games, self-defense, meals, and individualized support. Across the Lower Mainland, we deliver hundreds of workshops focused on social-emotional learning, social justice, and awareness. Through partnerships and sponsorships for external activities, we help youth build skills, explore interests, and grow in meaningful, lasting ways.
Role Overview
We are seeking Youth Facilitators to lead workshops during the week at lunch time or after-school and engage youth in creative and interactive activities, while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Workshop Delivery
- Facilitate workshops, including preparation, delivery, and wrap-up, with activities that promote youth development and skill-building.
- Build trusting, ongoing relationships with youth participants.
- Attend a monthly half-day in-person team meeting for training, brainstorming, and discussing youth support.
- Gather food, supplies, and materials as needed for programs.
- Monitor attendance and track participant engagement.
Youth Engagement & Support
- Identify youth interests and goals through conversation and reflection during sessions.
- Research and suggest external activities or opportunities that align with their development.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
Other Tasks
- Other duties as assigned to support program success
Qualifications
- Experience facilitating groups, workshops, or youth programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces for youth.
- Flexible, reliable, and organized.
- Understanding of anti-oppression practices and equity principles.
