Woodlands Accounting Assistant

Our Woodlands Accounting Assistant is essential to the team. They enter contracts then prepare and process woodlands contractor logging and related payments. If you are a detail-oriented administrative professional who is eager to learn and thrives on deadlines, we would love to connect.
We’re looking for a Woodlands Accounting Assistant to join our Woodlands Divisions. Candidates able to work out of our Woodlands offices will be considered (Williams Lake or Lumby, BC and Slave Lake or High Level, AB offices will be considered. The Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Two years relevant experience in an administrative or accounting role.
- Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and be a team member.
- General knowledge of the forest industry, including woodlands activities an asset.
- Knowledge of accounting practices.
- Knowledge of the LIMS system / database considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business or administration is an asset.

In your role you will:
- Set up contracts in LIMS for each Timbermark and contractor on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
- Be accountable for processing various informational reports.
- Complete monthly GL account reconciliations, journal vouchers and various office duties.
- Interface with various internal and external contacts including logging vendors, logging contractors, truckers, scalers, CRA, and the Ministry of Forests.
- Use a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Be a resourceful team player who can work independently.
