We are looking for an energetic, willing to learn apprentice team member. From big structural builds down to small custom pieces, our team gets to flex their creative muscles and show off their skills
You may have the following skills that you want to lend or enhance.
· Carpentry/building skills. Maybe you're a carpenter looking for a change into the metal fab world. Maybe you're a handyperson. If you can competently read a tape measure (or are willing to master it) that's a great start.
· Do you have a welder in the garage and want to come play with some great machinery? We have only the most up to date equipment and want to teach you to use it to their potential.
· Maybe you just want a change and are quick to learn new skills and are adept and ready to take on a new challenge.
Ideally, you are a mixture of all the above. But if you possess any of these skills and truly want to learn and be part of a great team who build cool things in a nice shop, we want to hear from you. Many of our staff came to us with little to no experience in the trade at all.
All in all, we're the biggest, little fab shop in the sea to sky. We build commercial buildings and houses to fine furnishings and art pieces. Firepits to firehalls and everything in between.
Requirements:
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified Journeyman Welder.
- Learning and applying various welding methods such as Stick, MIG, and TIG
- Practicing worksite safety and hazard prevention
- Registered Apprentice in Welding trade or willing to sign up.
- Certification through Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) would be an asset.
- Ability to lift 75lbs.
- Helping out around the yard in various laborer duties such as cleaning, sweeping, moving parts, assisting welders, painting, etc.;
