ScanDesigns Furniture Kelowna is looking for a responsible warehouse employee to
help with the day to day deliveries to customers homes, as well as maintaining the sales floor with new product, packaging customer sold product, and general warehouse labor including storing products in warehouse racks, assembly, organization of product and more.
This is an entry level position and training will be given on site. You will be part of a team of 4 in the warehouse, with some days assigned to a delivery truck, and other days in the warehouse preparing orders and assisting customers.
Duties include:
Shipping and receiving furniture (by hand and via handtruck/flat dollies), assembly of product for delivery, display and customer pickups, and bringing items on and off
the showroom floor, as well as diagnosing minor problems such as loose bolts, squeaks, parts in need of lubrication, etc.
The qualifying candidate must possess:
- A valid BC drivers license
- The ability to lift 50 pounds or more alone, repeatedly.
- The ability to move, lift, carry and manipulate furniture (up to and including 300lb objects) through customers homes with respect, to their property and their furniture, and your safety.
- A clean drivers abstract
- Able to work Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6 pm
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, wood working would work in your favour.
-Experience operating a 1 ton and 3 ton cube truck
Besides being responsible for the management of inventory and ensuring product gets onto the showroom floor efficiently and in excellent condition, you will also be available to help customers load product and go out on deliveries, usually in pairs for the large and heavy items, and when possible, solo to deliver small items like dining chairs, occasional chairs, etc.

Experience
- Previous experience in warehouse operations is preferred, with a solid understanding of warehouse organization and label recognition.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is highly desirable for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Familiarity with order picking processes and inventory management practices is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, reading comprehension and communication are all critical to success
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving responsibilities associated with this position.
