T-Lane Transportation is growing and we are currently looking to recruit a temp Warehouse Technician for our Edmonton location for 3 months.
This is a Monday to Friday position.
Scope:
The role of the Warehouse Technician within the Supply Chain department supports logistics and yard operations by performing various manual labour tasks to support the movement of freight within the yard and warehouse. You are the keeper of our yard lay-down area, and will be a master at both planning the space & ensuring smooth movement of goods.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work alongside Loader Operators to load and unload freight
- Organize stock within warehouse
- Label stock
- Assist truck and delivery drivers to load and unload vehicles
- Perform other material handling activities such as counting, sorting, packing and unpacking
- Shunt trucks & trailers within yard
- Wash trucks & trailers as needed
- Snow removal as needed
- Ensure product quality comply with defined standards and reporting deviations
- Carry out duties in an effective manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards
- Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning equipment
- Perform other duties as required, including, but not limited to effective yard and warehouse clean-up, yard maintenance, administrative duties
Experience
- Minimum 2 year of warehousing experience required
- Class 3 Driver’s License, required
- Forklift operation experience and certificate required
- Clean drivers abstract
Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day; ability to walk / stand for duration of shift
- Comfortable working outside for long durations in varied weather conditions
- Experience and comfortability working around heavy equipment
- Attention to detail is critical in the role
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to work, overtime, on-call and weekends when required
- Problem solving, decision making and effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure completion to meet deadlines
