System Equine takes pride in our commitment to excellence and are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Order Picker / General Labourer to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
As a vital member of our team in the role of Warehouse Order Picker / General Labourer, you will be at the forefront of our warehouse operations, driving efficiency and accuracy in the order fulfillment process. Your primary responsibilities will include meticulously picking customer orders, utilizing inventory management systems to ensure accuracy, and preparing items for prompt and secure shipment.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will actively contribute to maintaining a high level of organization and cleanliness throughout the warehouse. This includes routine inspections of storage areas, restocking shelves, and collaborating with team members to uphold a safe and productive working environment. Your keen attention to detail will be instrumental in minimizing errors and ensuring that the right products reach our customers on time
As an integral part of our warehouse team, you will also be expected to collaborate with other departments, such as shipping and receiving, to facilitate seamless communication and coordination. This role requires a strong work ethic, adaptability to varying workloads, and a commitment to meeting and exceeding performance targets
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently pick customer orders using pick sheets.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and documentation to meet quality standards.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse by conducting routine inspections, restocking shelves, and disposing of packaging materials responsibly.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and enhance overall warehouse efficiency.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss process improvements, share insights, and address challenges.
- Uphold a commitment to workplace safety by following established protocols and promoting a culture of awareness and accountability.
- Assist in receiving incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and properly storing items.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Perform general labour tasks, including but not limited to restocking shelves, maintaining inventory accuracy, and conducting regular quality checks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse operations and order picking is preferred.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform repetitive tasks.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to foster a collaborative working environment.
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new technology systems.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical stamina and the capability to lift and move heavy objects as required in a warehouse setting.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 30-70 pounds or more consistently
- Ability to stand, bend and reach for extensive periods of time
