Job Description

VP - Business Management

As a Vice President within RBC Clear COO Office, he/she will apply in-depth analytical and project management skills and experience to lead the planning and delivery of critical initiatives for RBC Clear Business Management function. In particular, the role will lead and manage projects with a focus on Headcount and Financial Planning, Business Performance Management and Business transformation.

The right candidate will have strong data analytics and reporting skills, ability to work with a myriad of cross-functional teams, excellent at planning and delivery and be goal oriented in a fast-moving environment focused on the client experience.

What will you do?

  • Manage end-to-end delivery for key RBC Clear projects with a clear focus on requirements management, schedule and scope management, issue management, stakeholder communications and reporting.
  • Responsible for resource planning (headcount tracking, new hire plans), forecasting and vendor management while liaising with hiring managers, functional partners, HR, Technology and Finance.
  • Run point in annual budget and works closely with Finance and Technology on observing forecast, changes in outlook and all capital spend / tech prioritization to ensure spending is aligned with budget and benefits realization.
  • Support the Office of COO in identifying and analyzing the impact of cross-functional financial decisions across the business and support functions.
  • Responsible for Business Performance management: quantitative and qualitative- I.e. the “so what”, what’s performing well, Productivity, Cost consumption/Management, etc. Build on existing tools/leverage AI technologies to develop enhanced reporting to monitor the health of the business, people metrics, revenue, risk governance and strategic initiatives.
  • Initiate and manage various transformation initiatives around operations optimization, reporting analytics etc. using AI LLM technologies while working closely with Architects and Dev teams.
  • Foster a deep partnership with Technology on Run-the-Bank (RTB) initiatives and report on RTB progress.
  • Support evolution of Business Management processes and drive adoption of key enabling practices for new ways of working. Engage in consulting, educating and mentoring across teams to generate business agility awareness and change mindset.

What is required to succeed?

Must Have

  • Undergraduate Degree required, Masters Degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Project/Program/Business management or a related field within a financial institution, preferably in Cash Management/Transaction Banking; 4+ years of successively responsible leadership positions
  • Proven experience managing large scale projects with high level of complexity and uncertainty, and ability to influence decisions. Advanced understanding of project management frameworks and principles, Agile, waterfall and iterative methodologies, program and project metrics and status reporting
  • Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with the ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on an ongoing basis.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to engage business partners (i.e. risk, compliance, technology) and navigate a highly matrixed environment.
  • Effective and concise communicator at all levels, both verbal and written.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, leadership skills.
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint
  • Keen interest in working with new tools/technologies for digital transformation including AI/ML.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in financial budgeting, reporting, planning and analysis.
  • Project management certification.
  • Good understanding of Cash Management / Transaction Banking products and flows.
