Job Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely processing of Canadian and/or US payrolls. In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end payroll cycles, resolve payroll discrepancies, and maintain compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local regulations. Partnering closely with HR and Finance, you’ll play a vital part in delivering a seamless payroll experience while contributing to process improvements and operational excellence.

What you’ll do
Prepare and process end-to-end payroll cycles (weekly or bi-weekly) for assigned US and/or Canadian employee groups.
Reconcile and balance payrolls, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
Prepare and submit tax remittances and payments to government and third-party agencies within required timelines.
Maintain accurate payroll records and generate standard/ad hoc reports for HR, Finance, and regulatory purposes.
Manage Time & Attendance data entry and validation, ensuring accurate integration into the Workday payroll system.
Support payroll-related projects, system upgrades, and testing initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Partner with the Manager, Payroll & Mobility on tax compliance activities, registrations, and issue resolution.

Required qualifications
Business Diploma in Human Resources or Accounting.
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) designation.
Strong working knowledge of payroll fundamentals, legislation, and statutory deductions in both US & Canada.
Experience with payroll systems such as Workday, UKG, or Kronos.
Proven ability to process and reconcile payroll with a high degree of accuracy.
Financial Responsibility
May track or report data and handle administrative tasks
