Job Description:
As a Used Car Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dealership's used car department, including purchasing, pricing, merchandising, and selling used vehicles. The Used Car Manager works closely with the Sales Manager, Service Manager, and Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager in order to ensure that the department meets its sales and profitability goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the used car department, including inventory acquisition, pricing, and merchandising.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize profitability and meet sales targets.
- Evaluate and appraise trade-in vehicles to ensure accurate pricing and fair value for customers.
- Monitor market trends and adjust inventory and pricing strategies accordingly.
- Train, motivate, and supervise the used car sales team to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and service, to streamline processes and improve overall dealership operations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive activities, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a management or leadership role in automotive sales is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of used car market trends, pricing strategies, and appraisal techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and developing a sales team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in dealership management software and other relevant computer applications.
- Professional demeanor with high energy.
- Exceptional customer service history.
- Organized and process-oriented approach to tasks.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
