We are currently hiring General Labourers with occasional Telehandler Operation responsibilities for a busy waste transfer station. This is a physically demanding role in an industrial environment, ideal for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and ready to work in a fast-paced setting.
Breakdown of Duties:
- 80% General Labour
- 20% Telehandler Operation (ticket required)
Responsibilities:
General Labour (80%)
- Manual sorting and handling of waste and recyclable materials
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas
- Assisting with site operations and supporting operators
- Following safety protocols at all times
Telehandler Operation (20%)
- Safely operating a telehandler to move and load materials
- Conducting daily equipment checks
- Assisting with bin/container placement and loading
- Following site supervisor instructions and MTO safety standards
Requirements:
- Valid Telehandler Operator certification (required)
- Previous experience in waste/recycling or heavy labour preferred
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors/in dusty environments
- CSA-approved safety boots required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 month
Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
