We are currently looking for a Team Lead - Health & Wellness to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Health & Wellness, the Team Lead – Fitness is responsible for coordinating the planning and development of programs and services according to the YMCA policies, procedures and standards ensuring participant satisfaction.
START DATE: ASAP
LOCATION: Sudbury, ON
RATE OF PAY: $45,000 to $48,000 per year
HOURS: 30 Hours
Major Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality programs by instructing group fitness classes, conducting Smart Start appointments, and providing personal training
- Lead fitness classes or arrange for coverage as needed
- Contribute to the development of seasonal group fitness programming
- Design and implement promotional initiatives to enhance program participation
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers
- Support and mentor staff and volunteers to foster a positive work environment
- Participate actively in the Duty Manager rotation
- Uphold YMCA Standards of Excellence in all daily responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Association
- College diploma or University degree in Physical Fitness Management, Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Physical Education or related field
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- YMCA Fitness Certification(s) or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role, including leadership experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and a strong team player
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
