Independent Contractor Job Opportunity: Part-Time Martial Arts Instructor
Location: CFTP Etobicoke
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Compensation: $22/hour + $800 monthly stipend (September–June)
Hours: 17.5 hours per week
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Independent Contractor Martial Arts Instructor to deliver part-time Taekwondo instruction and provide safe transportation for students as part of our after-school program. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional passionate about youth development and martial arts education.
Key Details:
- Hourly Rate: $25-27/hour (1099 contractor)
- Weekly Hours: 22.5 hours
- Monthly Stipend: $800 (September through June applicable if driving children)
- Schedule: Afternoon and early evening hours; flexibility based on program needs
Scope of Work:
- Instruct students in Taekwondo in a structured, supportive environment
- Foster safety, respect, and discipline in every class
- Maintain attendance records and monitor student progress
- Assist with belt testing, events, or demonstrations
- Safely transport students from school sites to training locations
Contractor Requirements:
- Kukkiwon Certification – 3rd Dan or higher (Required)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Experience transporting students safely for after-school or youth programs
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 12 months)
- Must follow all applicable transportation and child safety regulations
- Access to a reliable vehicle suitable for transporting students, or willingness to drive a program-provided vehicle (if applicable)
- Strong interpersonal communication, time management, and classroom leadership skills
- Prior martial arts instruction experience strongly preferred
- Must pass background and driving checks as required
Important Notes:
- This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position
- Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits
- Contractor must provide appropriate attire and training equipment
