As a Tactical Healthcare Security Officer at South Shore Regional Hospital, you'll be on the front lines of healthcare safety, working closely with emergency staff and local law enforcement to ensure a secure and compassionate environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

What You’ll Do:
- Act as a visible presence within the Emergency Department
- Respond to coded emergencies and use verbal de-escalation techniques
- Assist with security planning for high-risk patients and patient restraints as needed
- Support hospital staff and maintain site-wide safety
- Conduct ID checks, monitor site access, and patrol the premises
- Write detailed incident reports and escalate concerns appropriately
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and EMS
- Provide support for patient watch guards
What You Bring:
- 1–2 years of experience in security or law enforcement
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C with AED certification
- Ability to obtain a Nova Scotia Security License
- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB, or willingness to complete Paladin's training (covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment)
- Physical fitness and ability to stand or walk for 3–4 hour periods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Diploma in Justice Studies or Police Foundations
- Prior experience in hospital or emergency settings
