We are seeking a compassionate, mental health-informed Home Share provider for a creative, tech-savvy, and nature-loving adult who is ready to transition into a safe, structured, and affirming home environment.This individual is deeply artistic, empathetic, and brings a lighthearted sense of humor. They enjoy meaningful conversation, shared meals, and quiet companionship. They thrive in a calm, respectful home that balances independence with gentle structure and emotional support.They currently attend a supported Fine Arts program twice weekly and are working toward rebuilding in-person social connections. They live with complex mental health needs and are assessed at GSA Level 3, reflecting the importance of a well-matched provider.
Ideal Home Environment
- Located in Sidney or Greater Victoria (e.g., Uptown, Mayfair, Oak Bay)
- Accessible by transit (HandyDART and local bus)
- Pet-friendly (they have a cat)
- Private suite or retreat space within the home
- A calm, mature household — open to queer families, senior citizens, or others who value emotional safety and respectful communication
- Preference for a home without young children or other supported individuals, though flexibility exists depending on the environment
- Willingness to maintain open, collaborative communication with family, especially their supportive mother
Support Needs
- Trauma-informed emotional support and regulation
- Medication reminders and administration
- Cueing for hygiene, tidying, and daily routines
- Support attending frequent medical and wellness appointments
- Encouragement of healthy boundaries and community safety
- Respectful, empathetic conversations around sensitive topics
