We are a dynamic community-based health centre promoting social justice and health equity in the Regent Park neighbourhood and Downtown East area of Toronto. We operate out of several locations and provide a wide variety of services including: primary health care, chiropody, physiotherapy, health promotion, social work, community health, immigrant and refugee services, harm reduction programs, addiction and recovery services, Pathways to Education, infant and child development programs, parenting programs, and youth employment services.
Job Summary:
The Supply and Maintenance Assistant ensures that the clinical staff have the supplies they need available in their offices, that medical supply inventory is well organized and that specific areas of the Health Centre are well maintained. The Supply and Maintenance Assistant takes on light cleaning and laundry duties.
This is a 3 Months Contract – Part Time Position, 25 hours per week

Responsibilities include
- Autoclaving of clinical instruments in primary care clinic
- Cleaning and stocking primary care exam rooms, lab and procedure room
- Cleaning of space and equipment in program kitchen, ground floor and medical reception areas, overdose prevention room and drop-in room
- Cleaning of shared areas and equipment including client phone, stairwell bannisters, and door handles and buttons.
- Keeping inventory and ordering of supplies as needed, including PPE.
- Organization, receiving and storing medical supplies.
- Stocking of First Aid kits throughout the Health Centre
- Stocking of kitchen supplies
- Ensuring surgical scrubs and other re-usable PPE are laundered and re-stocked for use.
- Ensure Safety Data Sheets are available and up to date on line and in the binders on each floor for all products
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Requirement to wear a mask and comply with personal protective equipment guidelines
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Experience in office cleaning an asset
- Able to use required cleaning solutions with personal protective equipment
- Experience stocking and tracking of inventory
- Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work evenings an asset
- Able to organize workload and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively with people of various cultural, age and economic Commitment to Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppressive strategies
- Knowledge of the Regent Park area and issues affecting families living within the Regent and Moss Park communities
- Must have full COVID 19 vaccine for the protection of clients and staff
