Are you a U of R senior undergraduate or graduate student in Media, Art, and Performance with a passion for student support and community outreach? Are you committed to helping others accomplish their academic and creative goals? Are you ready to build relationships across the Faculty and the University?
As a MAP Student Engagement and Outreach Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Associate Dean-Undergraduate to empower and mentor students in MAP 001: Strategies for Success and to support the MAP Student Program Centre and the Associate Dean(Undergraduate) in community outreach and recruitment. Teaching Assistants support in-person and remote sections of MAP 001 by attending sections of MAP 001, facilitating lesson plans, communicating with students through email and face-to-face meetings, grading brief assignments, and coaching students as they learn to navigate the Faculty and the University. In addition, you will support MAP’s engagement with community events such as Treaty 4 Days and the Winter Snowcase as well as recruitment events in Regina and where necessary across the province, and other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as an undergraduate degree student in any MAP program area(s) at the University of Regina;
  • Demonstrated extra-curricular and community involvement

Physical Demands Pay Grade As Per CUPE 2419 Salary Range As per CUPE 2419 Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
Up to 120 hours over the course of the Fall semester.
Must be available to attend one or more sections of MAP 001, as follows and to conduct office hours before or after the course meeting as well as to attend team meetings biweekly:
Monday – 10:30 – 11:20 am (in person)
Tuesday – 10:00 – 10:50 am (remote)
Wednesday – 12:30 – 1:20 pm (in person)
Thursday – 10:00 – 10:50 am (in person)

This is a student position; you must be registered in the Fall semester in order to apply.
