We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused Store Manager to lead our catering operations and retail counter in a fast-paced food-service environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, operations, and people skills, with hands-on experience in catering and retail food service, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations for catering orders and retail sales, including staffing, scheduling, inventory, and quality control
- Plan, execute, and coordinate catering events (delivery, setup, service, and post-event follow-up)
- Manage front-of-house retail operations: customer service, product presentation, merchandising, and point-of-sale duties
- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance across all services (catering, deli, retail)
- Manage budgets, costs, pricing, profitability, and waste reduction
- Train, coach, and performance-manage team members to deliver consistent service
- Develop and execute sales-driven initiatives, promotions, and menu/product offerings
- Collaborate with suppliers and manage ordering, receiving, and stock levels for both catering and retail items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
- Contribute to menu planning, product presentation, and packaging/branding for retail and catering
Requirements
- Valid permission to work in Canada (verified during the hiring process)
- Proven management experience in catering and/or retail food service (deli, cafe, restaurant, or catering environments)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coach and develop a diverse team
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP or equivalent standards is preferred
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- References from previous employers available at the interview stage
Preferences
- Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and basic financial reporting
