Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Snow Plow Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently clearing snow from roadways, parking lots, driveways and other designated areas during winter weather conditions. This role requires a strong understanding of snow removal equipment and techniques, as well as the ability to work independently in challenging weather conditions.
This position can lead to full time spring and summer employment with our maintenance and landscape crews.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor, loader, truck and other related equipment to clear snow and ice from roads, driveways, and parking lots.
- Perform routine maintenance on snow removal equipment, including checking fluid levels, changing blades, and ensuring all machinery is in good working order.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for additional snow removal tasks as needed.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with team members and clients to ensure satisfaction with services provided.
- Follow all safety protocols while operating machinery and performing maintenance tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience operating snow plows or similar heavy machinery is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for performing routine maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to work long hours during winter storms and adapt to changing weather conditions is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary for effective operation in varying environments.
