We’re looking for Seasonal Equipment Operators to help keep roads, lots, and walkways safe and clear this winter. If you take pride in a job well done, love working outdoors, and can handle whatever winter throws at you, we want to meet you.

All trucks, equipment, and tools are provided by Valley Enterprises.
Job Summary:
As a Salt & Snow Removal Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for safely and effectively clearing snow and ice from commercial properties during and after winter weather events. This includes driving and operating equipment, conducting inspections, and keeping detailed records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events (on-call as needed)
- Show up for shifts free of drugs, alcohol, or any impairing medications
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any maintenance issues
- Safely operate plows, salters, ATVs, skid steers, and other equipment
- Follow assigned routes, site maps, and schedules
- Apply salt and de-icing agents safely and appropriately
- Shovel or apply de-icing materials to walkways and hard-to-reach areas
- Pile snow in approved areas as marked on site maps
- Take site photos and submit logs using our mobile tracking app
- Monitor weather conditions and stay alert to upcoming shifts
- Keep detailed records: time logs, services provided, materials used, weather conditions, inspections, and more
- Perform basic equipment checks (e.g., fluids, lights, etc.)
- Submit all paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift
- Always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your equipment and work area
- Comply with all company policies and safety procedures
- Support your team and assist with equipment maintenance as needed
- Maintain a respectful and professional attitude with clients, team members, and the public
Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 Canadian Driver’s License (driver’s abstract required upon acceptance)
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Willing to work in cold, wet, and snowy weather for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to reach sites or our Langley yard
- Ability to use a smartphone or data-enabled device for logging and communication
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Able to work independently or as part of a crew
- Comfortable working irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must own appropriate winter clothing and footwear
Assets (Not Required):
- Experience with skid steers, plow trucks, or other heavy snow equipment
- Knowledge of snow and ice removal techniques and local bylaws (training provided)
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and equipment care
Work Conditions:
- Commercial sites across Greater Vancouver
- Outdoor work in extreme weather conditions
- Fast-paced environment near heavy equipment and moving vehicles
- Flexible shift times depending on weather (on-call)
Schedule:
- Seasonal / On-call
- Morning, evening, night shifts
- Weekends and holidays as needed
Location:
- Based in Langley, BC
- Must be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting
