Smart Hands Technician – Onsite (Calgary)
Location: Calgary, AB (Onsite)
Type: Part-Time / On-Call / Contract
Pay: $30–$40 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dependable and technically capable Smart Hands Technician based in Calgary to assist with Layer 1 IT support tasks at client sites. This is a fully hands-on role involving physical work such as cabling, device setup, mounting, and hardware installations.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and plug in computers, iPads, tablets, and other end-user devices
- Rack, cable, and power up networking and server equipment
- Terminate and test Ethernet cables (Cat5e/Cat6)
- Mount wireless access points on ceilings (requires use of a ladder)
- Perform basic cable management and labeling of ports, patch panels, and devices
- Use common tools such as screwdrivers, punchdown tools, and cable testers
- Follow detailed remote instructions from our team
- Provide documentation and photos of completed work
Requirements:
- Must be based in Calgary and available for local onsite visits
- Comfortable using tools and climbing ladders (up to 7 feet)
- Experience with Ethernet cable termination and testing
- Able to work independently while following remote instructions
- Professional, reliable, and communicative
- Must have your own basic tool kit (screwdrivers, snips, cable tester, etc.)
