Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Shop Controller to join our team at Hickman Chrysler in St. John's. The Shop Controller is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of repairs in the shop. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritize and dispatch work for the shop.
- Maintain shop capacity, efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor the availability of technicians and inform the Service Advisors and Managers on absences or delays.
- Assign work to technicians in a fair and equitable manner according to individual skill level.
- Use internal repair orders and pre-delivery inspections/checks to help reach production goals and complete internal work in a timely manner.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance workshop productivity and efficiency to Service Management.
- Manage promise times and proactively follow up on delayed repairs
- Become familiar with warranty
Qualifications
- Knowledge of shop environment, procedures and scheduling.
- Knowledge of the mechanical function as it applies to the safe maintenance and repair activities within the shop.
- Computer knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Above average time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, implement and monitor a wide range of concurrent repair and maintenance schedules to ensure optimum shop performance.
- Ability to project a professional company image.
- Experience in the mechanical trades would be considered an asset.
