Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify the contents of incoming shipments against purchases, orders, and packing lists.
- Unload and unpack incoming shipments, ensuring that items are undamaged and match order specifications.
- Document and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier specifications.
- Generate and affix shipping labels, ensuring accuracy of shipping details.
- Update inventory records to reflect the receipt and shipment of goods.
- Perform regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Complete and file necessary shipping and receiving documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations regarding shipping and receiving.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipping and receiving activities.
- Work with transportation providers and logistics teams to schedules and track shipments.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments in a timely manner.
- Provide status updates on shipments and inventory to relevant stakeholders.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for verifying quantities and measurements.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
