Responsibilities
- Examines incoming/outgoing shipments for shortages, overages, defects in materials, damage in transit and maintains the shipping/receiving logbook.
- Inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, according to blueprints, parts manuals, customer standards, and other specifications.
- Compares part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order, approves, or rejects items, and records inspection and disposition information.
- Compares identifying information and quantity, weights, or measures of incoming/outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Prepares and affixes shipping labels, assembles wooden or cardboard containers for shipment, inserts items into containers using appropriate packing materials and secures containers using nails, straps, or tape.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information onto containers, posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage.
- Report on inspection and testing activities and issuing non-conformance reports when the specification or procedural requirements are not met and report them to QA Manager.
- Carryout the preparatory, initial and follow up inspections as per the approved PWS and provide technical support to production floor.
- Packs, unpacks, and sorts library materials for rotation and supplies.
- Prepare packages and ships outgoing mail, receives, and distributes incoming mail.
- Transfers materials, including ILLs to designated branches or Central Services.
- Maintains logs, daily journals, and statistics of all activities.
- Responsible for routine automated circulation functions to support branches.
- Responsible for postage equipment and maintains statistics on use.
- Setup and tare down shipping boxes, check quantities and move parts to production in proper areas.
- Follow shop travellers.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Operate forklift, inspect, and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Required Knowledge
- Basic understanding of statistical techniques, inspection methods and the use of analog/digital inspection instruments.
Required Qualification and Experience
- High school graduate and minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment on QC related jobs.
- Hands-on experience with computers and printing equipment.
- Forklift operator license.
