JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a client/patient and family centered care model and in accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, position works under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate and in cooperation with the interdisciplinary team members to assist in the delivery of client/patient care. Performs duties such as cleaning, maintaining and ensuring equipment is in working order, providing client/patient care within scope of practice, transporting clients/patients to and from required areas using stretchers and wheelchairs, moving a variety of equipment within the unit, assisting nursing and technical staff with the lifting and transferring of clients/patients, providing support to clients/patients with dressing and/or bathroom care needs, assisting clients/patients with meals and maintaining supplies for various carts, rooms and storage areas; cleans equipment and designated areas as required to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients/patients and staff. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 10. Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Attendant program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to organize work.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
