Core Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide menus, explain specials, and answer questions about menu items.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Anticipate and respond to guests' needs, such as refilling drinks, providing condiments, and addressing concerns.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Order and Service:
- Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately.
- Ensure proper presentation of dishes and drinks.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and provide attentive service throughout the meal.
- Clear and clean tables efficiently after guests have finished.
- Process payments and handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment accurately.
Restaurant Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tables, service stations, and dining areas.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting tables, stocking supplies, and cleaning.
- Follow all restaurant policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
- Learn the menu, including ingredients, and potential allergens.
Teamwork:
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient service.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Assist other team members as needed.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience working as a server in a full service restaurant
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service.
- POS system proficiency (often preferred).
- Smart Serve Certificate
