Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Assist in seating guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
- Take and relay accurate food and beverage orders to the kitchen staff
- Ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to the guests' tables
- Provide excellent customer service and address any guest concerns or inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station
- Assist in bussing tables and resetting them for new guests
- Collaborate with other restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations
Experience:
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change
- Strong hospitality skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Experience in cash handling and operating a cash register is a plus
- Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient seating of guests
- Familiarity with cashiering procedures for processing payments
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial
