Located in Vancouver, BC, 2K Sports Lab is a small collective being formed within 2K Games that is driving the research and development of future sports interactive entertainment programs. Within this group, speculative work will be done on future sports games with an eye towards taking the magic of 2K’s publishing and development expertise and applying them to future opportunities.

What We Need
Are you the kind of developer who opens a scene and starts poking around not because you have to, but because you want to? We’re looking for a Senior Generalist Artist who is comfortable navigating multiple aspects of game development. This role supports a wide range of tasks from crafting environments and props, to building shaders and materials, to prototyping in Blueprints based on project needs and team goals.
Generalists in this role help connect the dots between teams. This is a hands-on, collaborative position that benefits from curiosity, technical proficiency, and a strong visual sensibility. There’s no single path through the work -flexibility, experimentation, and a problem-solving approach are central to the role.
Responsibilities

Supply across multiple areas of content creation, including modeling, materials, environment building, lighting, and technical prototyping.

Assemble and refine scenes directly in Unreal Engine 5, with attention to visual quality, performance, and reusability.

Develop textures and materials that balance realism with performance, using PBR principles.

Support gameplay and design teams by building and maintaining Blueprint-based systems or tools as needed.

Troubleshoot in-engine issues across art and tech domains, helping to unblock others and refine pipelines.

Stay informed on current trends in real-time art production and chip in relevant insights to the team.

Work fluidly with environment artists, tech artists, lighting, and engineering to maintain consistency and elevate the overall experience.
Qualifications

Shipped at least one title in a senior or multidisciplinary role.

Deep shown understanding of UE5 including materials, Blueprints, and lighting systems.

Skilled in modeling and sculpting tools such as Maya and Zbrush (or equivalent)

Proficiency with Substance Painter/Designer and PBR workflows.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a practical understanding of optimization and performance constraints.

Experience collaborating across departments in fast-paced development environments.

A portfolio demonstrating versatility across both artistic and technical tasks.

The pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,700 and $112,060 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
