Job Overview
As a Gravel Scale Operator at G&J Construction Group LP, you will play a vital role in the smooth and safe operation of our gravel pit. Your primary responsibility is to manage the weighing process for all inbound and outbound trucks, ensuring accurate load data is recorded for billing, inventory, and compliance purposes. You will serve as the first point of contact for truck drivers arriving on-site, providing clear instructions and verifying load information. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external haulers.
Responsibilities:
- Weigh inbound and outbound trucks using digital scale systems
- Record truck weights, load details, and delivery information
- Verify load types and ensure accurate documentation
- Communicate clearly with truck drivers, dispatch, and site personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around the scale house
- Follow all company safety procedures and protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience in construction, scale operations, or aggregate industries (an asset)
- Basic computer skills and ability to use scale software (Experience with Fast Weigh is an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-oriented
