About this Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Sandblasting General Labourer to join our Platinum team in the Redcliff location. Reporting to the Coating Foreman, the Sandblasting General Labourer is responsible for prepping the material, vessel, piping, skid, tank, for paint or coating. The individual will also be responsible for helping in the paint department if required.
Position Responsibilities:
· Utilize large industrial blasters and blast pots to clean surfaces in preparation for coating and painting.
· Ensuring control of pressure and direction to avoid damaging surfaces.
· Preparing surfaces prior to blasting.
· Set up and tear down scaffolding.
· Use grinding equipment.
· Assisting with the beam profiling machine.
· Assist with coating.
· Organize equipment in the shop and yard.
· Performing yard maintenance and clean up.
· Shop housekeeping – sweep, empty trash, and other duties as required.
· Flexibility to work at either Medicine Hat manufacturing facility or Platinum shop as required.
· Other duties as required
· Participate in ongoing safety prevention initiatives and courses and encourage others’ involvement.
· Promote and adhere to Argo Sales safety program.
Skills/Qualifications
· Own transportation
· Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
· Ability to adhere to verbal or written instruction.
· Previous work experience in Oil and Gas is an asset.
