General Description
The position involves the repetitive weighing of soil/rock powders for the chemical laboratory. The shift would be approximately from 3:00pm - 11:00pm.
Education
High School Diploma
Requirements
Exhibit strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrate initiative, reliability and common sense
- Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines and targets
- Good manual dexterity and basic computer skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and participate as a team member as required
- Good interpersonal skills
- Work safely and conscientiously consistent with Company Policies
- Compliance with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies
Responsibilities
May include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the department manager
- Complete and maintain required logs
- Label samples received, test tubes and package boxes
- Sort samples
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions to weigh samples for analysis
- Archive samples and record location
- Weigh samples using a decimal balance
- Catalogue and inventory all samples after work is complete
- Maintain and report equipment issues as they relate to sample weigh and production related issues
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Maintain departmental housekeeping
- Assist in ensuring turnaround time meets client’s requirements
