Roles and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Retail Credit Adjudicator to join our Credit Team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Vice President Retail Credit & Dealer Finance, the Retail Credit Adjudicator is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and approving consumer and small business credit applications up to an aggregate limit. The adjudicator is also a key contributor to automation and workflow automatization through platforms while supporting Relationship Advisors in delivering well-structured credit solutions. This role is eligible to work from any Prosperity Service location, with Rosetown identified as a key location for internal planning considerations.
- Credit Review and Adjudication: Evaluate and approve consumer, agricultural and small commercial credit applications ensuring all decisions align with internal policies and risk frameworks. Review exceptions and escalate as required.
- Digital Adjudication System: Lead the transition and optimization of small business adjudication as the in-house expert on automated decisioning tools to improve turnaround time, accuracy and consistency.
- Daily Credit Operations: Conduct daily reviews and approvals of new loan applications, amendments, and subordinations. Maintain high standards for documentation, compliance, and processing efficiency.
- Collaboration & Team Support: Partner with Relationship Advisors to ensure files are complete and credit structures are sound. Act as a resource for CMHC and Sagen programs, and participate in the retail loan queue within CRM/Valeyo systems for consistent credit review and workflow execution.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in business, agriculture, finance or economics is an asset.
- Lending experience in consumer, commercial, and agriculture preferred, a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles, loan structuring, and applicable lending policies.
- Experience working with or supporting automated or digital adjudication systems Familiarity with tools such as Valeyo, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms is an asset.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and compliance skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, queue-based environment with daily credit reviews and turnarounds.
