Roles and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a highly analytical and relationship focused Credit Analyst to join our Credit team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Manager Credit Analysis, the Credit Analyst evaluates the creditworthiness of loan applicants by reviewing their financial information, credit history, and collateral. In this key role, the Credit Analyst will assess risk associated with extending credit and make recommendations on loan approvals or denials to ensure prudent lending practices and to safeguard the financial stability of the credit union. This role is eligible to work from any Prosperity Service location, with Rosetown identified as a key location for internal planning considerations.
- Collaborative Credit Solutions: Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess credit needs and recommend appropriate solutions tailored to member requirements. Foster collaboration and open communication channels with internal teams to ensure alignment on member-centric solutions. Identify and propose credit solutions for commercial and agriculture loans by conducting thorough financial analysis and data input.
- Data Management and Analysis: Complete financial analysis and meticulously input data related to commercial and agriculture, loans into internal systems. Provide support for loan portfolio analysis within the Credit Department, contributing to informed decision-making processes. Utilize analytical tools and methods to evaluate credit risks and opportunities effectively.
- Communication and Member Relationship Management: Maintain proactive and responsive communication with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the determination of optimal solutions for members. Act a liaison between internal teams and advisors, ensuring a two-way flow of information to address member needs effectively. Build and nurture relationships with advisors, gaining insights into their financial requirements and identifying opportunities for cross-selling additional solutions.
- Cross-Selling and Solution Identification: Proactively identify additional solutions that align with member needs, creating cross-selling opportunities to enhance member relationships and overall portfolio performance. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies for effectively presenting and promoting additional member solutions. Continuously assess market trends and member preferences to anticipate and address evolving needs effectively.
Qualifications
- Lending experience in consumer, commercial, and agriculture preferred, but will consider a combination of education and experience.
- Agriculture industry knowledge and/or agriculture education is an asset.
- Experience interpreting financial statements.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work requirements to meet deadlines and work within time constraints.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with an aptitude for relationship-building.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
