Springbank Cheese Company is looking to hire a committed, part-time cheesemonger! If you have a passion for food and have the willingness to learn all about cheese—this is the job for you! We operate a mixed Retail and Wholesale business in Mount Pleasant, off of 16th Avenue NW. Experience working at a cheese counter or in a deli is a definite asset but is not required. Training occurs on the job and includes numerous opportunities to acquire all necessary knowledge.

General Duties
· Cutting and preparation of cheese for retail sale as well as for wholesale orders
· Serving retail and wholesale customers, handling cash and operating a till
· Stocking and facing shelves and product displays
· Preparing and serving grilled cheese sandwiches
· Regular cleaning of cutting surfaces and kitchen area; sweeping and mopping throughout the premises
Job Requirements
This may be a physically demanding position as employees are required to be on their feet for long periods of time while working in the store. Applicants may be required, from time to time, to lift heavy objects and should feel comfortable lifting items weighing up to 60 pounds.
Employees are required to cut, package, prepare and serve food items related to day-to-day operations. Therefore, a strong emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail are of the utmost importance. Our shop is a certified Food Handling facility registered with Alberta Health Services that annually receives perfect inspections as outlined by AHS. Preference will be given to those individuals who possess a Food Safety Certificate or demonstrate the necessary skills and understanding of proper food handling.
Knowledge of our product is one of the greatest assets to maintain our high standards in customer service—we are seeking applicants who are willing and able to learn about a variety of cheeses, cheese products and accompaniments as well as relevant pairings with other foods and beverages. A polite and friendly attitude toward customer service and the ability to work independently and as part of a team is a must.
Preference will be given to applicants with flexible daytime and weekend availability. Regular store hours are 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM on Sundays.
